APRIL 2019
Every year the International Society of Typographic Designers hosts a student design competition that aims to test young designers on their skills. The final piece is judged by juries who will offer you a full membership into the ISTD. Myself and one other classmate were selected as winners.
I chose the project focusing on the word “lost.” I decided to do a historical study on the Great Depression because it has a clear connection with loss; loss of money, loss of jobs, loss of life, and loss of hope. I created an accordion styled book featuring a timeline showcasing historical events and how they compare with the Dow Jones. I created it to be reminiscent of how things looked during that time.
